Woman wanted for failing to appear on DUI charge arrested; facing new DUI charge

A Louisiana woman wanted for failure to appear was arrested in Massac County on new charges last week.

Metropolis police and first responders were called to a gas station after a woman was reportedly seen slumped over a steering wheel with the engine running.

While speaking with the driver, identified as 43-year-old Christina A. Dupre, officers said they could smell alcohol on her breath. They additionally reported seeing an open container of alcohol in the center console.

She was also allegedly showing other signs of impairment.

A computer check revealed she was wanted for failure to appear in Massac County on a prior DUI charge.

Dupre was served with the warrant and additionally charged with DUI and illegal transportation of an open alcohol container.

She was taken to the Massac County jail.
