Crews at Barkley Regional Airport have been fighting the ice, just like the rest of us. Conditions forced the cancellation of a midday flight, today, although they are planning on getting back running in time for an arriving flight, this evening.
As they prepped for another round of de-icing the runway, they discovered a malfuntion with their spreader truck.
Barkley Regional Airport Executive Director Dennis Rouleau told West Kentucky Star, "Our only truck with a spreader broke down, so I quickly went and tried to find help to find an alternate way to get the de-icer down."
Rouleau reached out to McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer. Clymer and the county were able to help.
"So, luckily, the Judge-Executive was able to send equipment, here," Said Rouleau.
Clymer added, "I was glad that we were able to jump up. I mean, within twenty minutes or so, we had a truck out here, and a mechanic and a driver to get back running, operating."
