Lyon crash claims life of Princeton man

A two vehicle crash in Lyon County just before 6:00pm Friday claimed the life of a Princeton man.

According to Kentucky State Police, the report of the crash was received at 5:47pm at the intersection of the I-24 exit 45 westbound off ramp and KY 293.

The preliminary investigation shows that a box truck, operated by 24-year-old Thomas Flood, of Longview, Washington, had exited I-24 westbound toward KY 293, when he entered the intersection with KY 293, into the path of a vehicle operated by 54-year-old Jerrod Easley.

Easley's vehicle struck the side of the box truck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flood was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

KSP is continuing the investigation into the fatal crash.
