West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Allied Health Building has gone purple for Alzheimer's awareness.

Over six million Americans live with Alzheimer's disease, and kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, according to the Alzheimer's Association.

For the second year in a row, the Allied Health Building is lit purple during September as part of the "Light the Night Campaign."

The WKCTC chapter of the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students is also participating in efforts to raise money for awareness of the disease, including selling purple ribbons that will be displayed in the building.

The WKCTC Nursing and Allied Health Team, consisting of students, faculty, and staff, will then display and carry the ribbons at the Alzheimer's Walk in Noble Park on October 15.
