Metropolis man arrested on charges in two counties

A Metropolis man was arrested on warrants from two Illinois counties on Saturday.

Metropolis police said 66-year-old Robert A. Smith was spotted in a driveway on Filmore Street. The officer was aware that Smith was wanted on warrants. Two warrants were issued by Massac County for theft and one from St. Clair County, IL for possession of a controlled substance. 

Smith was also found to be in possession of fentanyl. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
