Illinois duo arrested for meth on I-24

An Illinois duo who Sheriff's Deputies said has a past of violent crimes was arrested Friday on I-24 for methamphetamine.

Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department said they stopped 39-year-old Kevin Sommer of Carbondale, and 39-year-old Sonya Sledd of Metropolis for a traffic violation.

Police said they found the pair to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.

They were both charged with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, while Sommer was also charged with a traffic violation.
