Powers unseats Kemp as Graves Commonwealth's Attorney  

Republican challenger George Shannon Powers has won his bid to become Commonwealth's Attorney for Graves County.

Powers unseated Richard "Richie" Kemp who was seeking re-election. The Republican challenger garnered  53 percent of the vote to 47 percent for Kemp.

Prosecutors in the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office are responsible for prosecuting felonies committed in Graves County.
