The U.S. Forest Service has scheduled a public bison auction for February 1 in Land Between the Lakes.
The Forest Service manages two herds of American Bison in LBL, and periodic sales help manage the herd size.
Approximately 30 bison will be sold separately to the highest bidders, including:
Three large bulls born in 2022
Eight yearling bulls born in 2023
Nine yearling heifers born in 2023
Ten bull and heifer calves born in 2024
The auction will take place at the South Bison Range corral, located on the west side of the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway just south of the Kentucky/Tennessee state line.
Bidder registration and viewing begin at 8 AM, before the auction starts at 9 AM.
