Two people were injured and one arrested following a Monday night traffic accident.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said the two vehicle collision occured on Clarks River Road near the Fivestar gas station when a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Wesley Almon was struck in the passenger side by a vehicle operated by 47-year-old Justin Peck.

Investigators said Peck was travelling outbound on Clarks River Road in a black truck with no headlights which prevented Almon from seeing the vehicle approaching.

Both men were treated at a local hospital for injuries.  It was determined Peck was operating his vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances.  Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered from Peck’s person during the investigation.

Due to injuries Almon sustained Peck was charged with assault, operating a vehicle under the influence, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no headlights.

Peck was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
