Two small quakes shook the Missouri Bootheel in a span of about 14 hours.
The first was a 2.0 tremor just before 1 p.m. on Friday. It was centered on the southern city limit of Caruthersville. The second was a slightly stronger 2.8 magnitude shake just before 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. That one was centered 2.5 miles east-northeast of Steele, Missouri, or 22 miles west of Dyersburg, Tennessee.
No damage has been reported.
The two tremors were part of seven detected along the New Madrid Fault in the past week.
