Four arrested in scheme to smuggle drugs to McCracken Jail inmates

Four people have been arrested in a scheme to get drugs to inmates in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, individuals have been placing drugs at points where they could be retrieved by jail inmates. The month-long investigation into the contraband smuggling operation identified four people involved. Detectives arrested 30-year-old Anthoney Adkins, 31-year-old Joseph Aycock, 30-year-old William T. Hayes, Jr, and 31-year-old Domonique Wharton, all of Paducah.

Wharton is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in synthetic drugs, and trafficking in marijuana. Hayes was charged with complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance, complicity to trafficking in synthetic drugs, complicity to trafficking in marijuana, and promoting contraband. Adkins has been charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of synthetic drugs. Aycock was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

All four were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
