The City of Paducah will begin offering an online option to pay city real estate tax bills.
The new online option will allow Paducah property owners to use a debit or credit card as an alternative to paying by mail, over the phone, or in person at City Hall.
The Paducah City Commission lowered the tax rate from 27.1 to 26.5 cents per $100 of assessed value back in September.
Using a debit or credit card will incur a 2.95 percent service charge on those transactions. The city said the service provider is responsible for the service charge. The city does not get that money.
City officials also note that this bill is separate from what comes from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office for county government and other agencies.
