Murray man charged with sexual assault

A Murray man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Murray Police detectives have been investigating a sexual assault complaint. Through that investigation, 42-year-old Thomas Varneke was identified as the suspect. As a result, Varneke has been charged with sodomy.

Varneke was arrested on Thursday and taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
