A Paducah pair was arrested and will face gun and drug charges after a traffic stop on Wednesday in Murray.
Murray Police stopped 19-year-old Kiersa Atnip of Paducah just after 11 p.m. Wednesday because they knew 33-year-old Jamal Branch was in the vehicle with her. Police were aware that Branch was wanted on a pair of warrants charging him with trafficking in methamphetamine and parole violation. The stop also revealed that Branch was in possession of a firearm, which after previous felony convictions he was not allowed to have.
Branch was served the two warrants and additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Atnip, meanwhile, was found to be under the influence of substances according to the report. She was also arrested.
Both were taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
