A structure fire on Tuesday morning in McCracken County damaged a barn and a pair of vehicles.
The Concord Fire Department was called to the scene on Gholson Road at about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday. A barn was on fire when they arrived. Also fully involved were a van and a camper parked adjacent to the barn. It only took seven minutes to gain control of the fire.
Investigators believe the fire was the result of the use of a space heater in the van. The van was occupied at the time the fire began. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Firefighters said this is a reminder to check for flammable items nearby when using a space heater inside.
Concord units were joined in battling the blaze by the West McCracken Fire Department and others from the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site.
