A St. Louis woman was arrested on a human trafficking charge in Paducah on Tuesday.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a request for assistance from two females staying at a local hotel.
The two females told authorities they were stranded and trying to get back home to St. Louis. They were identified as 22-year-old Marlaa Jackson of St. Louis and a 15-year-old juvenile.
As Detectives worked to understand why the two were in Paducah information was obtained that Jackson often worked in the commercial sex trafficking trade. She allegedly had been working from the local hotel room.
Detectives also learned the juvenile had run away from her home the evening before, although she had not been reported as missing.
Detectives said they obtained additional evidence that Jackson had included the juvenile in her postings and commercial sex activities earlier in the evening.
Jackson was arrested and charged with human trafficking and sodomy.
The juvenile was released to her legal guardian.
