A Smithland man was arrested for his connection to the theft of a motor from a commercial fishing boat.
Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said they received a report that on or about April 5 at Green Turtle Bay Marina, a commercial fishing boat and motor were stolen from the area. They said the boat was soon recovered adrift and missing the motor.
Deputies said they allegedly located the motor at a residence near Smithland, where information gathered from the home led to the arrest of 32-year-old Weston Brandstetter of Smithland.
He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $1000 and booked in the McCracken County Jail.
