An investigation into Fentanyl trafficking in McCracken County ended with the arrest of a Benton man on Wednesday.
McCracken drug detectives reportedly purchased Fentanyl pills during an earlier undercover operation that was set up with 34-year-old Travis A. Thorpe. Since then, a warrant had been issued for conspiracy to trafficking in a controlled substance and authorities had been actively trying to locate Thorpe.
On Wednesday, authorities located Thorpe in a business on US 68 in the Sharpe community of Marshall County. Thorpe reportedly noticed law enforcement and attempted to hide, but was arrested inside the business.
A quantity of Fentanyl and methamphetamine was allegedly found after searching Thorpe and his vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia.
Thorpe was charged with the McCracken County warrant, and additional charges in Marshall County are pending.
