A small earthquake shook southeast Missouri near Marston along the Mississippi River on Saturday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the tremor registered as a magnitude 2.4 on the Richter Scale. No damage was reported.

That quake was the fifth recorded since last Wednesday, all located within an eight-mile wide circle that includes the communities of Marston, Catron, Howardville and New Madrid. It's also about 25 miles south of Sikeston, and about 20 miles west of Hickman, Kentucky.

The quakes ranged in intesity from 1.9 to 2.8. The U.S.G.S. says that an earthquake would usually need to be measured at 2.5 or higher before it is felt by humans.
