Police investigated the report of a shooting at the mall in Clarksville on Saturday, but quickly confirmed there was no active shooter inside.

Law enforcement responded just before 11 a.m. to Governors Square Mall and determined that the shots were fired on the perimeter road outside the mall, according to witnesses.

Their investigation also suggested that the shooting was not a random act, but was an isolated incident between two different parties.

Officers did clear out the mall so that they could do a protective sweep throughout the entire building. Employees and shoppers were allowed back in after the sweep was complete at about 1:30 p.m.

According to police there were no injuries confirmed.
