A second lawsuit has been filed in the aftermath of the Mayfield candle factory collapse during last year's tornado.

The new legal action is on behalf of three former Mayfield Consumer Products employees who died, and seven employees who survived.

The suit filed in Graves County Circuit Court claims that Mayfield Consumer Products and supervisor Justin Bobbitt should be held responsible. It charges the defendants with false imprisonment and violation of Kentucky statutes.

The lawsuit follows another filed in March by eight other former employees. That class action suit alleges false imprisonment and defamation of character.

Those plaintiffs claim they were threatened with termination if they left the factory that night. They also accused the company of inadequate emergency preparation. That suit is pending in federal court in Paducah.

Nine people died after the EF-4 tornado demolished the factory where 110 people were working.
