Five injured in two vehicle crash in Trigg County

Five people were injured in a Tuesday afternoon traffic accident in Trigg County.

The Trigg County Sheriff's Office told WKDZ a vehicle operated by Edward Smith of Illinois was exiting onto US 68 from eastbound I-24 and collided with a van operated by Carl Spurlin of Clinton.

Smith's vehicle overturned and trapped two of its passengers.  After the passengers were removed, the occupants of the Smith vehicle were treated at Trigg County Hospital.

Carl Spurlin was taken to Jennie Stuart Health in Hopkinsville for treatment while his wife Delores was flown to a Nashville hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
