WKDZ reported Wednesday the suit was filed by Bryant Law firn of Paducah concerning an incident which occured on the first day of school August 12th.
The new suit, filed by the mother of an eight year old girl, claims a seven year old student assaulted her on the bus.
The complaint alleged the seven year old was sitting next to the eight year old girl when according to the girl's five year old sister, she told her mother the eight year old was being touched inappropriately.
Another student saw what was happening and alerted the bus driver, James McCain, but was told to "mind their own business". The incident was never investigated, nor did McCain separate the children according to the suit.
The lawsuit also alleges the mother of the eight year old received conflicting reports about bus cameras aboard the bus. The mother was initally told the cameras were not working and her daugther was not interviewed.
However, it was later learned three of the four cameras were working but the one pointed toward her daughter was not at the time.
The lawsuit also alleges no school official conducted what the plaintiffs considered a reasonable investigation nor interviewed the plaintiff's daughters or witnesses aboard the bus.
The complaint further alleges three days after the incident, the eight year old boarded the bus again and found the accused student sitting beside her.
The new suit also alleges Trigg County Superintendent Dr. Rex Booth and Trigg County Transportation Director Scott Schrock were already aware of previous safety complaints involving Trigg County school buses, including concerns about student supervision, misconduct and the handling of safety complaints.
The bus driver, James McCain, was also named in the suit.
Another lawsuit was filed earlier this month by another student in regards to a similiar incident which occured on the last day of school in May.
