Samons retiring as Murray Independant Schools superintendent

Murray Independent Schools Superintendent Coy Samons has announced his impending retirement.

According to the Murray Ledger and Times, Samons made the announcement during Thursday night's school board meeting.  

Samons said it was with mixed emotions that he was announcing his retirement effective July 1st. He added after 37 years in education, it was time for him to pursue some personal endeavors and interests.

Samons has been MISD's superintendent for the last eight years.
