A Salem man was arrested Tuesday after falsely reporting a home invasion.
The Livingston County Sheriff's Office said the report was made by 35-year-old Steven Cummings.
When deputies arrived, they encountered Cummings outside his residence armed with a loaded handgun. After investigating the alleged home invasion, deputies determined that the reported incident was unfounded.
Deputies also said Cummings was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
