During Tuesday's Paducah Board of Commissioners meeting, City Manager Daron Jordan discussed issuing General Obligation Bonds in 2025 totalling $27 million for two important projects.

The projects are the Paducah Sports Park and the Paducah riverfront infrastructure Improvement project.

The Sports Park is a city, county and McCracken County Sports Tourism Partnership that will total about $70 million to construct. The city and county will split the cost of the project.

However, 80 percent of the bed tax funds collected by the McCracken County Sports Tourism Commission are available for debt payments.

The city has already pledged $12.5 million from previous bond funds.  The upcoming bond would provide an additional $22.5 million for the project.

The remaining $4.5 million of the upcoming bond would be used for the Riverfron Infrastructure project.
