A Tri City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office reported that 71-year-old David Perry was driving on KY 97 south of Sedalia when he reportedly fell asleep. Perry's truck went down the shoulder, impacted several rocks and a tree, and rolled over into a deep creek bed.

Perry was trapped inside the vehicle with the creek water rising due to heavy rainfall.

Members of the Sedalia Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Mayfield/Graves County EMS extricated Perry from the vehicle. He was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment.
