Rolling roadblocks will be set up along I-24 Friday night near the Tennessee River Bridge.
Kentucky State Police will assist the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and contractors as they reposition equipment to begin the painting process of the eastbound bridge. The rolling roadblocks will be along the interstate between the Calvert City interchange at US 62 and the I-24 weigh station in Lyon County.
The roadblocks are designed to slow traffic but not stop it and provide a window where crews can work for longer periods unimpeded by the traffic flow. The repositioning will be completed on Friday. Once that work is complete, all the lanes across the bridge will be open for the Labor Day weekend.
The work and lane restrictions will resume on the eastbound side of I-24 at the bridge on Tuesday.
