A repeat DUI offender was arrested Monday on another DUI charge following an altercation at a local business.

Deputies were called to Charlie Joe's Bar and Grill on Old US Highway 45 in reference to a disturbance involving an intoxicated man.The man in question was later identified as 63-year-old Jeffrey Bunch of Paducah.

Bunch was said to be driving away from the business as deputies arrived. He reportedly failed to stop for the arriving deputy, who had his lights activated, pulled onto Old US Highway 45, and drove for a short distance before finally pulling over.

After stopping Bunch put his vehicle in reverse and backed into the marked Sheriff’s Office cruiser.

Bunch was removed from the vehicle and was detained. Deputies said Bunch was driving on a suspended license, was highly intoxicated, and had previously been arrested for numerous DUI offenses.

Bunch was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, criminal mischief, driving on a DUI suspended license, disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and resisting arrest.
