High temperatures on Thursday set a full slate of new records at Paducah, Cape Girardeau, Evansville, and Poplar Bluff.
In Paducah, 85 degrees shattered the old mark for the date of 83, last reached in 2020.
In Evansville, 87 degrees crushed the previous all time high of 81, also set in 2020.
At Cape Girardeau, 85 knocked off the old record of 82, set in 2007.
In Poplar Bluff, 86 bettered the longstanding record high of 83 set in 1956.
The region's historical average high for the last week of March is 63. Average highs in the 80s won't arrive until mid-May.
