Reckless driver arrested for drugs after traffic stop in Mayfield

A reckless driver was arrested and will face drug and other charges after a traffic stop in Mayfield on Sunday.

Mayfield Police said they were called about a vehicle headed into the city that was driving in a reckless manner. They spotted the vehicle along West Broadway and stopped it. The driver, 50-year-old Danny Hayes of Mayfield, was reportedly determined by officers to be under the influence. A search of the vehicle is said to have found illegal drugs and an open alcohol container inside.

Hayes was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle, and possession of methamphetamine.
