Rash of trailer thefts reported in Calloway County

The Calloway County Sheriff's office says there has been a rash of trailer thefts in the county recently.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the department warns residents to take precautions to protect their trailers, including securing the trailer with a hitch or wheel lock; park the trailer in a well-lit area; and record your trailer's VIN or serial number along with keeping current photos of the trailer.

The sheriff's office took the opportunity to note that at least one of the recent thefts likely would have been captured by a Flock Camera, but that camera had recently been vandalized and was not operational when the theft occurred.
