The Caldwell County School Board is looking into purchasing a property across from Caldwell County High School.
WPKY reported during its meeting earlier this week, the board voted to enter into an option to purchase a home and five acres across from Caldwell County High School.
Caldwell superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach said the cost of the property is $795,000 and added the option does not complete the purchase, but allows the district to study whether the property would meet its needs.
One possible use for the property if purchased is for a new Board of Education facility which is currently housed at the Butler Building. The office has been in that facility for 30 years and was originally supposed to be temporary.
If the school board purchases the land and home, it will not likely happen until November or December.
