A Hopkinsville man wanted on probation violation was arrested following a short pursuit Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police said they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by John Bilyeu but when they did, he led them on a pursuit beginning on Fort Campbell Blvd.
Police were able to use spike strips on South Virginia Street at East 22nd Street with the pursuit coming to an end when Bilyeu's vehicle hit a brick wall on South Virginia Street at the intersection of Alumni Avenue.
A police vehicle also received minor damage in the chase. In addition to the probation violation, Bilyeu was charged with fleeing or evading police. He was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
