Three Hazel residents were arrested after a growing operation for psychedelic mushrooms was uncovered.
The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said deputies searched a home in Hazel on Wednesday and seized nine active grow boxes for Psilocybin Mushrooms, approximately 10 pounds of marijuana, two pounds of mushrooms, over 200 retail packaged marijuana products, 2.5 pounds of additional THC wax, a pistol, a modified sawed-off shotgun and cash.
Police estimated the street value of the seized drugs at about $49,000.
Arrested on charges including felony drug trafficking were 35-year-old Joe Thomas, 46-year-old Michele Chandler and 25-year-old Jessie Carlson. Thomas and Carlson were additionally charged as felons in possession of a handgun.
