A Princeton woman was charged after boarding a school bus Tuesday morning with a weapon.

Princeton police told WPKY officers responded to the 600 block of Fairview Church Road where an intoxicated woman entered the bus through the rear door.

The bus driver told officers 45-year-old Amanda Cansler had tried to enter the bus through the loading door.  When the driver pulled off, Cansler managed to get on the bus through the rear.

The driver then stopped the bus and positioned himself between Cansler and students on board.

It was noted Cansler was acting strangely and was seen with a folding knife she had taken out while on the bus.  She left a short time later through the rear of the bus.

Cansler was found in the woods hiding in a ditch and taken into custody.

She was charged with public intoxication excluding alcohol, disorderly conduct, menacing, and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.   Cansler was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
