A Princeton man faces multiple charges after he allegedly fired a weapon in the direction of deputies responding to a domestic disturbance in Caldwell County Wednesday night.
Deputies said when they arrived at the home on Sandlick Road, the victim ran from the house and yelled that her husband had a gun. Deputies took the victim to a safe place and returned to locate 55-year old Dwayne Hale and deliver an emergency protective order, but Hale refused to answer the door.
Police said at one point, Hale fired a gun in the direction of deputies. Deputies then forced their way into the residence and found Hale in the hallway, where he continued to resist arrest until a taser was used.
Hale was charged with assault, resisting arrest, and wanton endangerment of a police officer. He was lodged in Caldwell County Jail.
