Section of I-57 to close for repairs Tuesday night

The Illinois Department of Transportation says that southbound Interstate 57 between exit 30 and exit 45 in Williamson County will close to all traffic at 7 pm Tuesday for emergency guardrail and pavement repairs.

The repairs are expected to be completed the following morning and all lanes reopened by 7 am Wednesday.

A posted detour will direct southbound I-57 traffic to eastbound Interstate 24, just south of Marion.
