The sheriff of Pope County said Wednesday he's getting reports of "porch pirates" in the county stealing packages from homes while residents are away.
Sheriff Jerry Suits posted a letter on social media that said just as there are more holiday package deliveries being made, there's also been an increase of calls about packages not on the porch or front step when residents look for them.
The sheriff said to let his officers know immediately when you notice a delivery is missing, or especially if you see unknown or unauthorized people around your property.
