Reports of a disturbance and threats to a child landed a Paducah woman behind bars in Metropolis.

Early last Tuesday, Metropolis police were alerted to a disturbance at a home on McCrary Street. Officers said this was the second call to the home.

Once there, authorities heard yelling and sounds of a struggle.

Inside, 32-year-old Artisha M. Ingram, was reportedly found to be intoxicated and holding another woman on the ground while threatening to hurt a child.

As officers attempted to calm her down, she allegedly directed her anger toward them.

The occupants refused to sign a complaint, and arrangements were made to give Ingram a ride to Paducah.

Once outside, Ingram reportedly began yelling and screaming, causing concern among the neighbors. Officers said Ingram began yelling louder and using vulgar language, leading to her arrest.

She was taken to the Massac County jail.
