A Paducah woman was arrested on Tuesday for forging a stolen check.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they were alerted by a resident to the loss of his checkbook, and the unauthorized passing of some of the lost checks.

An investigation found that at least one of the stolen checks had been passed at a business in Paducah. Detectives were able to identify 50-year-old Cindy Mitchell, who allegedly admitted to making a blank check payable to herself, before passing it.

Mitchell was charged with forgery and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
