The severe thunderstorm watches for today have been canceled. Heavy rains in a few counties led to flash flood warnings for the possibility of localized flash flooding in upper southern Illinois.
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will continue Wednesday through Thursday. Marginal chances both days for severe weather means a few strong storms cannot be ruled out. Damaging winds and large hail would be the primary concerns.
More locally heavy rainfall could lead to some nuisance flooding problems through the period.
Dry and cooler conditions will return for the weekend, with a warming trend into early next week.
