Paducah sets record lows on Sunday, Monday mornings

The National Weather Service in Paducah reports that record low temperatures were set at Barkley Field on Sunday and Monday mornings.

On Sunday the low of 46 degrees broke the record of 47 set in 1953. On Monday morning, the low of 44 shattered the mark of 48 degrees set on this date in 1986.

Cape Girardeau also set a record low on Sunday morning at 43.

The normal low for this week is 61.

Looking ahead, Paducah's earliest date for a morning low in the 30s is September 21, when it was 38 degrees in 1991. Paducah's earliest morning of a freezing temperature Is October 2, when it fell to 30 in 1974.
