Numerous tips over the last several months led to drug trafficking and other charges for a Paducah pair.

Drug detectives said they learned 51-year-old Russell W. Horton was heading to a location in McCracken County to sell meth Friday afternoon.

Deputies stopped Horton's vehicle on Pool Road. They said Horton appeared to be under the influence of illegal drugs, and meth was allegedly seen in the front seat of his vehicle.

Horton reportedly resisted arrest and attempted to ingest the meth to avoid being caught with it.

Authorities searched Horton's home on Pool Road, where more meth was reportedly found along with a small amount of marijuana. The search also resulted in the arrest of 51-year-old Melissa K. Whitehouse.

Horton was charged with DUI, trafficking in meth, tampering with evidence, possession of an open alcoholic container in a vehicle, and traffic-related offenses.

Whitehouse was charged with trafficking in meth and possession of marijuana.

They were both taken to the McCracken County Jail.
