A man accused of ramming a Paducah police cruiser and fleeing arrest in January was arrested on Tuesday.
Drug detectives spotted 26-year-old Malik J. Watson in a vehicle along Lone Oak Road. The vehicle was stopped on Broadway and Watson attempted to flee again on foot.
After Watson was caught, witnesses told police he had tossed a backpack in some bushes. The backpack was retrieved and allegedly contained marijuana, digital scales and plastic bags.
Watson also allegedly had two Oxycodone pills in his pocket, but no prescription.
On January 4th, police stopped Watson, as they knew he did not have a valid driver's license. When the officer pulled into a driveway behind Watson's vehicle, Watson reversed into the cruiser and continued down Seitz Street until he backed into a ditch and fled on foot.
Watson left his ID and debit card in the vehicle, along with 143 grams of marijuana, 15 hydrocodone pills, 50 suspected fentanyl pills, scales and plastic bags.
In addition to Wednesday's trafficking and fleeing charges, Watson was arrested on six separate warrants alleging trafficking, possession, wanton endangerment, fleeing, criminal mischief, plus probation and parole violations.
Watson was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
