Over the last week, the McCracken County Sheriff's Department has been investigating a male suspect using fake currency at area businesses.

Friday evening, a Clarks River Road business reported the suspect was in their store and told investigators he had been there before and used fake money.

When deputies arrived, the suspect Willis Scott gave officers a different name in an attempt to elude arrest.  Deputies said Scott had several warrants for various narcotics and other related charges.

K-9 officer Vegas searched Scott's vehicle and found suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

Scott was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.  Deputies said the investigation is continuing and more charges are likely.
