Extra patrols in a theft-stricken area of McCracken County on Wednesday ended with a Paducah man behind bars.
Due to several recent thefts from vehicles, extra patrols were taking place in the College Avenue area of Lone Oak.
Early Wednesday morning, Paducah 911 learned someone was attempting to get inside of a vehicle in the 400 block of College Avenue.
During a search, deputies located a man identified as 45-year-old Francisco Starks walking on Columbus Avenue.
Authorities searched his bag and said a debit card belonging to someone else, and a cocaine smoking pipe were found.
Starks was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, possession of cocaine, public intoxication, and drug paraphernalia.
