The city of Paducah has been recognized for pacing the state in its number of economic development projects that were started in the past year.

According to Site Selection Magazine, Paducah placed in Kentucky top 10 in the category for both total projects and projects per capita.

Paducah was also recognized with top 10 spots in the 2024 Top Mississippi River Corridor Metro rankings, in both total projects (eighth) and projects per capita (second).

Meanwhile, Kentucky has once again placed in the top five for economic development projects per capita as Site Selection magazine posted its 2024 Governor's Cup rankings.

In the South Central region, Kentucky placed second for regional projects per capita, as well as third for total projects, with 187.

Nationally, Texas was the top state for new projects for the 13th year in a row. They weighed in at 1,368 projects for 2024, twice the number of second-place Illinois, which logged 664. Kentucky placed 10th nationally.
