On Tuesday, Paducah Water released an update on the river situation as they continue to monitor the aftermath of the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
Jason Petersen, Paducah Water's general manager, said that no butyl acrylate has been detected in the Ohio downstream from Huntington, West Virginia, which is over 600 miles from Paducah.
Petersen said that there is no chemical plume in the water and that the water that once contained the plume will flow past Paducah within the next few days.
Paducah Water said they expect no impact on their system.
