Paducah police are searching for a couple, after their child tested positive for cocaine.

Police said 27-year-old Chrishell Burns and 27-year-old Jakyron Burnside took the child to a local emergency room Sunday, March 19 where the child went in and out of consciousness, was lethargic, and had difficulty breathing. Medical personnel administered Narcan and the child recovered consciousness. She was then flown to an out-of-state hospital for further treatment.

Burns and Burnside both allegedly denied using illegal drugs. A search warrant was obtained for their home and Police said they found 2.5 grams of cocaine in a plastic baggie, a container that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and a small amount of marijuana in a kitchen drawer.

Social Services representatives removed the child and her three siblings from the home. Authorities have been unable to locate Burns and Burnside. Both are being charged in a warrant with second-degree criminal abuse and two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts are asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-444-8550.
